Elaboration | The solar movement from tropic of Cancer to the tropic of Capricorn is called Dakshin`aayana. During this period there is gradual increase in heaviness and coldness in atmosphere leading to increase in unctuousness, fluidity in the body etc. It also results in accumulation of Kapha and depletion of Vaata . It ultimately boosts the body components increasing body strength. During this period the unctuous tastes ( sour, saline and sweet ) in environment increase, which increases Kapha Dosha in the body. It results in improving the strength of an individual. It spans through three seasons viz. Varshaa ( rainy season ), S`harada ( autumn ), and Hemanta ( winter ). |
