Implied MeaningThe Hima Gun`a in Loka ( Universe ) indicates cold to touch. The substance has property to arrest ( Stambhana ) the flow or movement of components of body with Hima attribute.
ElaborationIt naturally alleviates burning sensation. It is the property of Aapa Mahaabhoota . So Aapa Mahaabhoota dominant Dravya reduces the excessive heat in the body. E. g. Chandanaadi Varga Hima Gun`a ( cold attribute ), reduces Pitta Dosha and increases Vaata – Kapha Dosha .
The functions of Hima Gun`a ( attribute ) are Lhaadana ( favourable to mind and body ), Stambhana Moorchchhaajit ( retaining consciousness ), Daahajit ( alleviating burning sensation ), Svedajit ( reducing sweating )
