Literary MeaningM / W – coarse, gross, rough, dense, dull
Implied MeaningDravya having abundance of constituent components are called Sthoola .
ElaborationIt is appropriately described by the word gross. Dravya, which are large in shape and do not move easily possess this property. These Dravya digest very slowly. Due to their grossness they have a tendency to block the Srotasa ( body channels ). This has ability to form layers and coatings, possess this property. It is similar to Kapha Dosha , and hence it increases it. This attribute possesses dominance of Prithvee Mahaabhoota .
