Implied MeaningIt indicates slowness of action, mobility, conversion etc. It is one of the twenty attributes. It is associated with Kapha.
ElaborationManda Gun`a is mainly of Prithvee and Aapa Mahaabhoota . It mainly pacifies the excessive movement of Vaata Dosha . It generates Kapha Dosha . The slowness and its tendency to resist change and conversion is useful in prolonging the life span as it controls the Vaata and Pitta activity in the body. It also generates Kapha, which enhances its effect. In a person with low digestive capacity it leads to generation of Aama and accumulation of vitiated Dosha.
