Implied MeaningSubstances, which develop taste in various dietary recipes, are called Ruchya .
ElaborationThese substances have salty taste. All Lavan`a are taste promoting in nature ( e. g. Vaartaaka ( A. H. 6 / 81 )) giving salty sweet, sour tastes to the substances. The bitter taste in itself is not very tasty but it improves the taste of the mouth.
