|Implied Meaning||It is one of the procedures in the daily regime.|
|Elaboration||Astringent and bitter tastes are advised for cleaning the teeth. Appropriate Dantakaasht`ha ( sticks ) or powders of plants like Karanja , Karaveera , Arka , Maalatee etc. are used.|
They should be of the size of the tip of the little finger in thickness and twelve Angula in length. They should also be straight with tips made like a soft brush. The teeth should be cleaned without hurting the gums.
Persons suffering from indigestion, vomiting, dyspnoea, thirst, ulceration etc. should not make use of sticks for cleansing teeth.
