Implied MeaningThis subtype of Pitta is located in eyes. It helps in perceiving the optical stimulus. Hence it is called Aalochaka Pitta .
ElaborationEyes are the most important of all the sense organs. Pitta that is responsible for perception of optical reference is called Aalochaka Pitta .
It converts forms and colours into images. As it resides in eyes, it helps the visual function.
Vitiation of Aalochaka Pitta leads to various functional deformities of eyes. As per Arun`adatta, it resides in between ( Antastaarakayoh ) iris, and hence is called Aalochaka.
