Implied MeaningThese are the secondary or minor instruments, which cover the partial functions of Yantra ( instrument ). It assists the main Yantra .
ElaborationThese secondary instruments are useful in various conditions.
E. g. Rope ( Doree ) – to tie bandage over a wound or to hold Kus`ha ( Plaster ) over a fractured bone so as to stabilize the reduction,
Magnet – useful to extract metallic foreign body from eye,
Leather ( Charma ) – to cover wound,
Hand – Sus`hruta considers the trained hand as an important Upayantra as no surgery would be possible without a hand holding the instrumentTongue – to remove foreign body from eyes.
