Etymology/ Definitionपुरीषवहे द्वे, तयोर्मूलं पक्वाशयो गुदं च, तत्र विद्धस्यानाहो दुर्गन्धता ग्रथितान्त्रता च । सु. शा. ९/१२ पुरीषवहानां स्रोतसां पक्वाशयो मूलं स्थूलगुदं च, प्रदुष्टानां तु खल्वेषामिदं विशेषविज्ञानं भवति; तद्यथा–कृच्छ्रेणाल्पाल्पं स शब्दशूलमतिद्रवमतिग्रथितमतिबहु चोपविशन्तं दृष्ट्वा पुरीषवहान्यस्य स्रोतांसि प्रदुष्टानीति विद्यात् । च. वि. ५

Implied MeaningExcretory system
ElaborationAfter digestion, fecal matter is formed and then excreted through this channel. This comprises Pakvaas`haya ( ascending, transverse, descending and sigmoid clon ) and Guda ( anus ).
Moolasthaana ( origin of the channel ) – Pakvaas`haya, Guda
Causes of vitiation – Sandhaaran`a, Ati As`hana, Ajeern`a, Adhyas`hana, Durbalaagni, Kris`ha .
Viddha Lakshan`a ( symptoms of derangement ) – Aanaaha, Durgandhataa, Grathita Aantrataa
Vitiation of this Srotas should be treated like Atisaara .
