Literary MeaningPathological changes in the body
Implied MeaningIt is one of the ten factors for examination of a disease. Vikriti is also called as Vikaara ( disease ).
ElaborationA patient should be examined for Vikriti ( morbid manifestations ) with reference to the causative factors, Dosha and Dhaatu involved in pathogenesis, constitution of an individual, habitat, season and strength and also the symptoms of the diseases. Without determining the strength of the causative factors, it is not possible to estimate the strength of a disease.
