Elaboration | Mukha Daurgandhya means halitosis ( bad breath ). Bad breath is due to vitiation of Kapha and Pitta . Saama Kapha ( Kapha associated with Aama ) and Visra ( putrid ) attribute of Pitta is responsible for bad breath. It is necessary to remove association of Aama to Kapha and Pitta Prasaadana should be carried out. Medicines or theraputic procedure which relives bad breath is known as Mukha Daurgandhyahara. E. g. Betel leaf, Jaatee, Lavanga, Karpoora, Kankola, Kat`uka ( fruit of Lataa Kastoorikaa ), Khadiraadi Gut`ikaa etc. Dhoomapaana, Gan`d`usha etc. relives bad breath by pacifying vitiated Kapha . |
