Implied MeaningThese birds eat their food ( grains and cereals ) by spreading it unevenly. They are scatterers like a gallinaceous bird ( such as a domestic fowl, partridge, and quail ).
ElaborationAyurveda explains the qualities of Maamsa ( flesh ) by classifying birds, animals etc. in to 8 groups. These groups are form based on the way they eat their food or the way they live in / on the water or on both water and soil. Vishkira is one of these 8 groups. It consists of birds, which eat their food by scattering it by their feet. They are scatterers. These are the birds, which eat the grains after spreading it unevenly. E. g. Laavaa Chitra Yodhee ), Tittiri ( a partridge ) etc.
Maamsa of Tittiri is the best amongst all the birds in this Vishkira group.
