Elaboration | Teekshn`a is an attribute of Agni Mahaabhoota and Pitta Dosha . It is also used in the context of S`hodhana ( elimination of Dosha ). Teekshn`a S`hodhana or Virechana implies strong evacuation of waste products. Teekshn`a Dravya ( intense substances ) cause depletion of Dhaatu and thereby emaciation of the body. Since the tendency of these Dravya is conducive to S`hodhana these are used for removal of Mala ( waste products ). Dravya having intense attribute posses scrapping action ( Lekhana ). It alleviates Kapha and Vaata . E. g. Maricha ( Piper nigrum ) |
