Implied Meaning | After digestion the food is converted into Ahaararasa and Kit`t`a . Pureeshadharaa Kalaa differentiates faces from other components of Kit`t`a ( Urine ). |
Elaboration | It is the solid waste of digestive process in the alimentary canal. After absorption of all the essential components with the help of Samaana Vaayu the portion devoid of nutritional value that remains in the colon is termed as Pureesha or faecal matter. Pureesha has two important functions attributed to it 1. Avasht`ambha to impart support to the body from within like Asthi and 2. Vaayu Agni Dhaaran`a to control the activity of these two in the internal environment. But in certain stages of diseases it is important to retain Pureesha in body like in Raajayakshmaa ( Tuberculosis ) ( C. Chi 8 / 42 ). While describing various membranes ( Kala ) Sus`hruta has equated the Pureesha Dharaa Kalaa to the Asthi Dharaa Kalaa. |
