Elaboration | Astringent and bitter tastes are advised for cleaning the teeth. Appropriate Dantakaasht`ha ( sticks ) or powders of plants like Karanja , Karaveera , Arka , Maalatee etc. are used. They should be of the size of the tip of the little finger in thickness and twelve Angula in length. They should also be straight with tips made like a soft brush. The teeth should be cleaned without hurting the gums. Persons suffering from indigestion, vomiting, dyspnoea, thirst, ulceration etc. should not make use of sticks for cleansing teeth. |
