Literary MeaningM / W – having passed the night, having stood for a time or in some place, not fresh, stale
Implied MeaningWater or food, which is utilised after keeping it overnight, is called Paryushita Jala or Anna .
ElaborationParyushita Anna or Jala is one of the causative factors of various diseases. It causes vitiation of Dosha and also decreases digestive power leading to formation of liquid wastes.
It is sour in taste and it also aggravates Kapha Kaphotkledi ). It is not useful to those who have thirsty feeling.
It is one of the causative factors for Ars ha ( piles ), laziness, विद्रधि ( Abscess ).
This term is also used for Madya Paryushita Madya ).
During preparation Madya, which is kept overnight in other than Sandhaana Bhaan`d`a ( fermentation pot ), is called Paryushita Madya . It aggravates Tridosha .
