|Garbha means foetus, व्यापद means complication i. e. complications due to the foetus and complications to the foetus
|During pregnancy diseases developed in the pregnant women in context of foetus are called Garbhavyaapad .
|If a pregnant woman consumes unwholesome diet or follows unsuitable lifestyle, then it possibly leads to bleeding through vagina in the first trimester. This result in spontaneous abortion as in the first trimester the foetus is delicate and unstable.
Various Garbhavyaapad described in Samhita are:
Garbhasraava – Miscarriage upto the fourth month of pregnancy ( S. Ni. 8 / 10 )
Garbhapaata – Abortion after the 4th month of pregnancy when the foetus has stabilised
3 to 6 are all different types of intra uterine growth retardation to intra uterine death of the foetus.
