Literary MeaningOne who ambulates from one place to another is called Jangama.
Implied MeaningJangama Dravya – Animal originated substances
ElaborationThese substances have animal origin. They are derived from various parts of these animals viz. skin, hair, blood, nails etc. and are classified as per source.
1. Jaraayuja – It is a group of animals developed from Jaraayu i. e. viviparous in which reproduction, fertilization and development take place within the female body and the developing embryo derives nourishment from the placenta.
2. An`d`aja – It is a group of life forms born from an egg. e. g. Snakes
3. Svedaja – A group of creatures originating from heat and humidity of earth or sweat of animals. e. g. Various types of insects, ants etc .
4. Udbhijja – These are basically An`d`aja . These creatures lie below the surface of earth in hibernation period and then come on to the surface after a fixed time interval. e. g. frogs
Examples of Jangama substances – Cow milk, Ghee, animal excreta, Vasaa ( fat ), Majjaa Mootra Asthi etc.
