| Elaboration | Teekshn`a is an attribute of Agni Mahaabhoota and Pitta Dosha . It is also used in the context of सौषधं ( elimination of Dosha ). Teekshn`a S`hodhana or Virechana implies strong evacuation of waste products. Teekshn`a Dravya ( intense substances ) cause depletion of Dhaatu and thereby emaciation of the body. Since the tendency of these Dravya is conducive to सौषधं these are used for removal of Mala ( waste products ). Dravya having intense attribute posses scrapping action ( Lekhana ).
